QuestionDo I need to buy special pots and pans to work effectively on the new stove top

- Answer Hi Merletta - Thanks for choosing GE Model JP5030DJBB! Flat Bottom pans are essential for good cooking performance since the bottom of the pan needs to touch the glass for the best heat transfer. Stainless steel is highly recommended. A sandwich-clad bottom is especially good because it combines the durability and stability of stainless steel with the heat conduction and distribution of aluminum or copper. Heavy-weight aluminum cookware is also recommended. It conducts heat faster than other metals and cooks evenly. Aluminum residue sometimes appears as scratches on the cooktop, but these can be removed if cleaned immediately. - Answer You can check the GE installation manual for the model you intend to purchase at their website geappliances.com. I replaced an older 30" GE cook top with this new model. The existing cutout in my counter-top matched. The recommendation for the opening needed for the 30" cooktop is 28-1/2 - 28-5/8" x 19-5/8" - 19-3/4"

Your existing PP912SM3SS 30" cooktop has the following cutout dimensions: 28-1/2" W x 19-5/8" D, and all our current 30" cooktops have exactly the same cutout dimensions. - Answer Only one large—9 1/2. Two 6 1/2 and one 6. It does have the two burners you can synchronize. That would take a long pan.
