Q: QuestionJust purchased the the 36" GE Ft. French Door Refrigerator GFE28GELIDS and the ice maker makes a knocking noise when it is making ice and getting ice build up around seal on right side of freezer. Freezer not over filled w/food. Any suggestions?

Q: QuestionI have a GE Profile PFE28KMKES that is 3 years old. When I open the doors, the lights are all flickering off and on. Very aggravating! Is this something I can fix myself?

Q: QuestionTo the Manufacturer. When we softly close the doors of our new GE Profile Model GE PFE28KMKES they swing back open. We have to slam the doors and this is a real pain. Can the doors be closed without slamming them?

The refrigerator should be firmly positioned on the floor and front raised just enough that the doors close easily when opened less than 90 degrees. At 90 degrees or more, the door will remain still or swing open. Q: QuestionIs there a way to change the temp. of the fridge?

• A:Answer Hi Sunshine - Thanks for choosing GE! We are happy to help. To change the temperature, press and release the Freezer or Fridge pad. The display will show the set temperature. To change the temperature, press either the Freezer or Fridge pad until the desired temperature is displayed. When you keep pressing the Fridge or Freezer pad, the temperature setting will go up until it reaches the maximum limit and then starts over at the lowest limit. The ranges for the Fresh food section on most models is 34 F to 42 F; the range for the Freezer section is -6 F to 5 F. Q: QuestionMy Ice maker seems to be frozen at the point of dispensing. What is the best way to defrost the opening to allow the ice to freely come out? Also, can I get an electronic copy of my product user guide? .

• A:Answer Hello Byron - Thank you for reaching out about your refrigerator. We are sorry to hear the dispenser is not working properly. Ice may occasionally jam in the ice chute. If this occurs, open the left refrigerator door, open the ice box door on the inside of the left door, then remove the ice bucket. Place a container in the dispenser recess on the outside of the door. Using a wooden spoon, push the ice out of the chute into the container in the recess. • A:Answer Hi Yonts - Thanks for considering GE® ENERGY STAR® 27.8 Cu. Ft. French-Door Refrigerator GFE28GSKSS! This model has Space Saving Ice, which is an icemaker located on the left fresh food door. The icemaker makes approximately 3.6 lbs. per day and the bucket stores 3.8 lbs. of ice that can be dispensed through dispenser on the door or by removing the ice bucket from the door. You can always have plenty of ice on hand by adding optional second icemaker IM5D (sold separately). IM5D makes 2.6 lbs. per day and the bucket holds 2.6 lbs. The kit includes the icemaker, bucket, fill tube, water valve, and installation instructions. Q: QuestionWhy does the price vary so much from one color to the next? Some colors are in the $1500s while others are nearly double that. I could see maybe $100 difference if some colors are harder to get right but $1000? That's hard to swallow.

Q: QuestionDoes this refrigerator have a split shelf than can slide to allow a tall item to fit (large pitcher, 2 litre, wine bottle, etc) temporarily? The smaller 25.6 cubic ft version seems to, but the pictures on this model don't show it.

• A:Answer Hi TRAM - Refrigerator door stops help prevent damage to adjacent walls, cabinets, and the refrigerator door. They allow the door to open wide enough for normal pan removal. They are included on all models, but are not in plain sight. They are located in the hinge system at the bottom of the door. The door stops is set to 150 degrees and cannot be adjusted to another position. If the door opens to a full 180 degrees, service may be needed. Q: QuestionWhat are the running amps? What are the startup amps? We know a 15 amp dedicated circuit is required, but that is not the actual energy use. We need actual energy information for appliances to install a proper whole house generator.
