Hi - Thanks for choosing GE! We suggest to clean the washer by running a cycle with a cup of bleach only (or washing machine cleaner such as Glisten Washer Magic or Tide Washing Machine Cleaner). See the following link:http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16972 - If the "ring" is still visible, we encourage you to take advantage of your warranty and contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance or conveniently schedule an appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ - You can also contact us at the following link to send photos: http://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/contact.htm?icid=GEARtopnav-contact - Keep in touch! Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had my washer about a month and have washed numerous loads through it. There have been no issues at all with this machine. I have no idea what the ring could be unless it's something in your water, laundry soap, fabric softener, or bleach. Maybe some combination of those. About half way up is where the water level would stop on most loads of laundry. I have well water and have not had that issue.
