Hi Coquin- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for your consideration! Yes, the washer is equipped with a Pause button. To add items after washer has started, press Start/Pause if the lid is locked; wait until the Lid Lock indicator on the display is no longer illuminated before attempting to open the lid. Lift the lid and submerge additional items around the outside of the basket. Close the lid and press Start to resume. Also, the washer features a fabric softener dispenser that automatically releases liquid fabric softener at the proper time during the cycle. Add fabric softener and detergent before starting the wash cycle. Do not stop the washer or raise the lid during the first spin. This will cause the dispenser to empty too soon. Check out the Owner's Manual online for complete details: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90567.pdf - We hope this is helpful. Thanks for checking with us!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can pause the cycle. If you stop the cycle it takes 30+/- seconds for the lock mechanism to release. From there you may have to start the cycle over. I have not used the machine enough to answer this question completely, although it does lock when it seems that I should have access to the inside.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Has a pause button
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, there is a button to pause the cycle in order to open the lid and add more clothes. So far we like the machine!
