“With my old washer, for extra cleaning, I could run clothes thru the wash part of the cycle then before the soapy water spun out, turn the knob back to the beginning of the wash cycle and let them wash longer. Can this machine do that?”

Hi JustWondering- The cycle selector knob can be turned in either direction. Turning the knob after starting a cycle will stop the washer and change the cycle/options to the new selection. Press Start to begin the new cycle selection. The washer will not drain after changing the cycle. Also, this model is equipped with Auto Soak - Loosens stains by soaking up to 2 hours (15 min, 30 min, 1 Hr, 2 Hr). No, but there is a soak cycle available for up to two hours before the wash cycle starts. I usually soak for thirty minutes. Seems to work fine.
