Q: QuestionWhy is there so much lint on my towels after a full wash?
Asked by BSP.
- A:Answer HI BSP - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the lint. Mixing "lint producing" fabrics with "lint collecting" fabrics allows lint to transfer to other garments. This is one of the most frequently found causes of linting. New towels can also create excessive lint. Washing (agitation) beyond what's necessary to clean clothes will generate lint. Shorten wash time (choose normal or light soil) for smaller loads or lightly soiled. Setting the water level switch to a higher setting than needed will cause linting due to excessive movement of the clothes in the water. Overloading can prevent lint from being flushed away during the washing process as well as increase the effect of clothes rubbing against one another and generating lint. Loosely load clothes no higher than the top row of holes in the washer tub. Too much bleach will damage fabric and cause excessive lint. We suggest to view the following link- LAUNDRY LINT CONCERNS AND SOLUTIONS: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17430 - We hope these tips are helpful. Q: QuestionDo you install this machine and haul away old machine? Are there any other charges for that? Also any additional purchase is required?
Asked by Milo.
- A:Answer There is no change as to the installation which includes two inlets hose and one outlet. The new machine package doesn't include inlet hose (but it does include the outlet hose) and if your old ones do not fit the new washer, you need to get them. In my case. my old washer and hoses are really old so i got new hoses as well as the washer.

Q: QuestionHow do you adjust the unbalanced load since the lid is locked and stays locked?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hello- We appreciate your question and are happy to help! In the event you will need to open the lid, you can pause the washer. During the spin cycle, pausing the washer does unlock the lid but for safety reasons you must wait until the basket has completely coasted down to a stop before the lid unlocks. Depending upon the speed at which the washer is spinning when it is paused (and depending on the size of the load being washed), it can take as much as 3 minutes to coast to a stop and then unlock. All GE Appliances washer tubs move freely within our exclusive auto balance suspension system. It is a rod and spring floating suspension, designed to withstand extensive out of balance situations without the need for an "out of balance" switch. During an out of balance load, the basket is allowed to "float" forward and backward, side to side, and up and down, yet it never touches the floor nor is it even connected to the floor. As a result, the clothes basket can move freely, and this is normal. We hope this helps! Joyce@GEA

Q: QuestionDoes this washer have a clean option on it so the actual washer can be cleaned? Like a self clean Orion? Thank you
Asked by April.
- A:Answer Hello. We appreciate your interest in this top load washer! Unfortunately the washer does not feature self clean as an option at this time. We will certainly send feedback regarding this to our Laundry Products Design team. The interior of the washer can be cleaned by using a soft cloth dampened with liquid detergent, then rinsing. Harsh or gritty cleaners shouldn’t be used. The lid can also be left open after washing to allow moisture to evaporate. We hope this information helps, and are always happy to assist with any other questions or concerns. All the best! -Sarah@GEA

Q: QuestionWhy does the middle piece keep coming out during every load, even small ones. I put it back in and turn it to make sure it’s locked in but comes out every time.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi there, we appreciate you taking a second to contact us. The agitator could come off the base if not seated properly. It can easily be snapped back in place by lining up the grooves in the agitator auger with the agitator base. Next, turn it counter-clockwise until it locks into place. If the washer has a fabric softener cup at the top of the agitator that has come off, line up the grooves on the edges of the cup with the grooves at the top of the agitator. Then, push down on the cup firmly to snap into place. If the problem persists, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this helps and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA

Q: QuestionI purchased GE model GTW465ASNIWW 3 months ago and do love this washer. However, the clothes seem to be too wet when the cycles finishs even when I add an extra spin cycle. I this normal?
Asked by Curly.
- A:Answer Hi Curly - We truly appreciate you choosing this top load washer for your home and are very glad that you are enjoying it! We are sorry to hear of the issue you are experiencing with your clothes coming out too wet and are happy to offer you some guidance in this. Your washer features a fast 700 RPM spin speed that helps it efficiently remove water and minimize drying time. Given this, if the clothes seem too wet after the wash cycle is complete, even when you select an Extra Spin, this may be caused by improper cycle selection or loading. For optimal performance, you should select the cycle that most closely matches the items being washed. The chart on pages 9-11 of your Use and Care Manual will help you choose the best wash cycle settings. Additionally, if you are selecting a cold temperature, some fabrics will feel wetter when rinsed with cold water. A lower than normal spin speed and wet clothes can occur because of oversudsing and too much detergent. The use of High Efficiency detergent will decrease the chance of suds lock and you should always be sure to use the recommended measured amount. We sincerely hope that these recommendations are helpful for you! Please feel free to reach back out to us if you have any additional questions. -Eliza@GEA
