Hi Avifiner - Thanks for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear of this issue with your new washer and glad to offer assistance. If the washer fills and drains at the same time, make sure the drain hose is raised to 30" high. Any less will cause water to siphon back out of tub as it is filling. View video at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17399 - Also, the washer will automatically drain any time the lid is left open for more than 15 minutes and water is present or if left in a paused state with the lid closed for more than 24 hours and water is present. See page 5 of the Owner's Manual- AUTOMATIC DRAIN SEQUENCE. If you need further assistance, please schedule a service appointment online at GEAppliances.com/service - Keep in touch! Sue
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The washer is a self sensing washer and will add water based on the size of the load. I have fond that it works very well in this manner. I believe you an choose the deep fill option if you want more water. FYI in order to get a good rinse you will need to select the deep rinse option.
