A:AnswerHi - Thanks for considering GE! On belt driven models, one belt runs from the motor for both agitating and spinning the tub. On direct driven models, there is no belt. The motor turns the tub. Also, the drain hose is included with all GE washers. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A:AnswerHi Finley - Thanks for your interest in GE! While not required, GE Appliances highly recommends HE (High Efficiency) detergent be used in all of our washers (past and present models) for optimum wash performance. HE detergent works best with the lower water levels used in all modern washing machines and cleans just as well as standard detergents regardless of the machine type or age. HE detergents reduce the oversudsing problems
commonly associated with regular detergents. Keep in touch! Sue

A:AnswerHello ROD, thank you for your question. You will need to purchase two water hoses, two rubber washers and strainer screens, as well as a Drain Hose Extension if your discharge heights is 60" - 96". We hope this helps! -Chris@GEA
A:AnswerHi - Thanks for considering GE! The height needed for lid to raise 90 Degrees is 56". The lid is hinged at the rear so opens front to back. The soft close glass lid uses hydraulic technology to allow the lid to open to various angles, then close gently every time. It's great for tight spaces where the lid may be blocked by a shelf or cabinet installed above the washer.
