Q: QuestionThe green power light stopped working. I plugged something else into outlet and it has power. Was just curious why light stopped working.

Q: QuestionDoes this size of freezer have a defrost drain for water to drain out?

• A:Answer Thank you for asking a great question. Yes this model has a drain plug that needs to be removed when defrosting this freezer. Chest models have a defrost water drain at the front. Remove the defrost drain cap from the outside and the drain plug inside the cabinet. Hope this helps. Geoff@GEA

These chest freezers are designed with no machine compartment cover intentionally and the lack of this piece will not negatively affect the performance of your unit. If you are concerned about animals entering the machine compartment of your chest freezer, you can push the unit against a wall and still retain its full functionality. Q: QuestionHello, Users keep asking how cold this freezer will get, but the GE reps won't answer. What's the COLDEST POSSIBLE temperature of this model, not the recommended temperature. The "quick freeze" temp range should be about -10F. Is this info available? Thx!

Adjusting the freezer temperature control affects the compressor run time, so the unit does not target specific temperatures. Q: QuestionIs it normal that some portions of the freezer is cold and some portions are warm? For example, when I touch the outer upper portion of the freezer it’s warm and when I touch the outer bottom portion it’s cold. Same applies to the sides and the back.

• A:Answer Hi SD, thanks so much for your question! It is common for both chest and upright freezers to feel warm (sometimes even hot to the touch) on the sides. Chest freezers have the condenser wrapped around the outside of the case. - The outside white surface is actually acting as the condenser to remove heat from the inside. If the compressor is not running, the sides may feel cool at times - this is normal. - It is important to allow proper air circulation around freezers. Most Upright and Chest freezers require 3" on the top and all sides. We would recommend that you consult the freezer Owner's Manual or Installation Instructions for the proper clearances for your model. We hope that this helps and that you're staying safe. -Michael
