• A:Answer Hi there - Great question! We comply with all federal, state and international requirements regarding hazardous substances and meet those standards. We also comply with federal and state chemical labeling laws, like California Proposition 65. The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean the product is unsafe or poses a health risk. Over 800 chemicals are on this list, including wood dust, nickel (found in stainless steel), nicotine, and alcohol. Additionally, even inaccessible parts can cause the warning. Q: QuestionWe would like to use this washer in a dental office. Is this washer able to handle 160 degree wash water? Our regulating body requires us to wash items in 160 degree water for 25 minutes.

• A:Answer Hello Rob - We appreciate the interest in this excellent washer. The highest temperature the unit will reach is approximately 145 degrees F on the Sanitization cycle. The sanitization metric is based on the amount of time above a minimum organism killing temperature – in this case 131F (55C). The GFW850 spends >30 minutes above the minimum 131F temperature, surpassing the criteria. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - John@GEA

This setting will add 8 hours to whatever cycle it is selected on. The clothes will tumble dry as the unit blows air around them. Q: QuestionDoes it have a warm water rinse? Many new machines are cold rinse only.

• A:Answer Hi there Nursecathy123cat, Thank you for reaching out. Great question. Most GE washers provide cold rinse water for all three wash temperatures which saves energy without decreasing rinsability. Cold water helps to cut sudsing action and assists in detergent removal. Many detergent manufacturers recommend a cold rinse for these reasons. Some models have a warm rinse capability that is normally used when a hot wash was selected. The only benefit of the warm rinse is the water extraction is about 5% better than w/cold rinse (clothes will take just a slight less time to dry when using a warm rinse). But the energy savings of a cold rinse well outweighs the cost of the slight extra dry time. This model does not have a warm rinse option. Hope this helps. Best wishes. Mike@GEA

You only need the GE app on your smartphone and a home WIFI network to connect the machines as well as the GENEVA voice skill on ALEXA to make it really convenient.

Q: QuestionI purchased the new blue front load GE washer and dryer. I never had a problem washing my bathroom rugs in my other front loader. In this new GE washer the load will not balance drain or spin in this washer.

Q: QuestionHi please explain how the ultra vent works. I read somewhere that it turns on every 15 minutes and stays on for 8 hours. Does it take 8 hours to dry out an empty dryer!? Also is this an automatic setting, if not can it be turned on in the app? Thank you

My LG washer and dryer both had extended tumble type settings and these unfortunately do not, a glaring huge error and step backwords in my book.

• A:Answer I think Cher is asking if and how it can be shut off AFTER initial setup. Cher you can presumably use/download your internet provider's app e.g. Xfinity that allows you to see all devices in the house that use wifi and then you can pick and choose which device to turn off from there, including the laundry machines.

Q: QuestionThe manual says to press the My Settings Pad to store setting on my dryer. I don't see a settings pad on the front panel. If like to set the wrinkle guard default to "on."

• A:Answer In response to the official response to this question...I am staring at my dryer manual right now and the "My Settings" section is missing the "(on some models)" text. Therefore, it seems completely logical that we all would expect it to be available. And, what a completely lame thing to leave off a "smart" dryer. The inability to customize it is not very smart at all.
