Hi there! Thanks for reaching out with these great questions. The racks included with this range cannot be left in the oven while it self-cleans. However, if the grates do not have rubber bottoms you can place them in the oven during the self-clean cycle. We appreciate you considering GE Appliances for your home. -Gina@GEA
