What exactly does the child lock, lock out? null

it prevents anyone from trying to operate the stove. till the child lock is turned off

Hi Jay48- Thanks for viewing our GE® 30" Free-Standing Gas Range JGB660SEJS! "Lock Controls" (on some models) locks out the control so that pressing the pads does not activate the controls. Press both the + and - pads and hold for 3 seconds to lock or unlock the control. Cancel/Off is always active, even when the control is locked. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA

The oven cannot be opened when the lock is engaged.
