Q: QuestionI purchased 4 GE appliances. Yesterday, was the first time to use the oven in the freestanding stove. Mydaughter-in law left something boil over. What is the best way to clean this oven? Thank you

• A:Answer Dawn dish soap and warter. Only a soft cloth. Anything else will scratch it up and ruin the stove.

Q: QuestionI have a three year old JB258RM1SS electric range. The baking temperature is inconsistent and sometimes swings 40° when baking. I'm considering upgrading to this mode. I'm assuming the double element baking will provide a reliable baking temperature?

Q: QuestionAfter cleaning my oven for the first time, I cannot move the locking mechanism all the way to the left. At this point the handle stickss out two inches and approximately 45 degrees from flush. Please advise.

• A:Answer We’re so sorry your latch isn’t moving all the way to the left. Disconnecting power to the range for 30 seconds may help with this. If not, as long as there isn’t food in the oven, set the oven to Self-Clean for 1-2 hours. Wait approximately 30 minutes for the oven to cool and try to unlock the door. If the door unlocks, the control has reset itself and there should not be any other problems. Do not force the latch at any time. If your latch still isn’t moving, please reach out to us for service via phone at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737) Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET or Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET. -Gina@GEA
