Try checking your vent hose. It may be clogged. Towels hold extra moisture compared to other articles by design. Therefore, the long cycle will not make much difference if the moisture has no escape route through your vent hose.

If your dryer is running and heating, but not drying well, please check for an obstruction in the ducting. Make sure the outside wall damper is operating easily. Using the proper venting and making sure the vent pipe is the proper length is very important to the operation of the dryer. GE recommends the use of solid metal vent pipe, 4" in diameter, for adequate operation. GE does not recommend the use flexible, white, plastic vent pipe. Caution: Do not operate a gas dryer without the vent. It is possible that carbon monoxide fumes could enter the room from the dryer. If this does not help, then I recommend contacting the GE Consumer Service to schedule an appointment for an authorized technician to diagnose and repair your dryer. They can be reached at 1.800.432.2737, Mon. - Fri., 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sat. - Sun., 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, EST. I hope this helps! Thank you for choosing GE!
