Hello Chris - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we're happy to help you. Another full-width shelf could work in your refrigerator, but if your look at the shelf glides, you will notice that two shelves would have to be very close to each other so you would not be able to put tall items on one of the shelves. A half shelf would not work because it would not have anything to hold itself up in the middle.
