- Answer No, the Cync Indoor Smart plug allows you to control the on/off functionality but does not dim. For dimming, we recommend looking at our Cync Smart Light Bulbs which can be dimmed through a compatible app such as the Cync app, Google Home, or Alexa. QuestionAnyone know the wireless communication protocol used by this device? Is it just another Wi-Fi switch or does it use a more appropriate protocol like z-wave or zigbee?

QuestionFor WiFi is 2.4GHz required, or is it compatible with 5GHz? Why isn't such important information mentioned in the description or specifications? GE website merely says "Wireless Connectivity WIFIBLE", i.e. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

QuestionI have a CD player I turn on at bedtime. I am seeking a basic timer to turn off CD player one hour after I turn it on. Turn on time varies...don't want to control that...just automatic set to turn off in one hour. I am a senior Senior...keep it simple,

- Answer No, the Cync Indoor Smart Plug does not provide a network connection. It does require a Wi-Fi connection to function. We recommend contacting an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to set up a network which you can connect your Cync devices to. Thank you for considering Cync. -Cync Support
