- Answer Hi Tdoggy- There are a variety of microwaves available; however, only select models can be installed in a cabinet for a built-in look. A built-in microwave requires a 27" or 30" wide trim kit. Microwave trim kits are designed to provide a built-in look while also providing air flow necessary to the microwave. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. - Answer I don’t believe it will fit. I had an older model ge profile microwave that I had to replace. The new microwave was the same size, but my trim kit would not fit my microwave. I ordered the right trim kit, but I have not received it, due to the trim kit is back ordered. It take over a month to get the trim kit. We also noticed that when we ordered the new microwave it said it was stainless steel, but when we received it is not actually stainless steel it’s black. The model number was correct. I added a picture of the microwave that is supposedly called stainless steel.

- Answer Hi Amol- We certainly appreciate your loyalty! Built-in double ovens with microwave are designed as one model so that the oven and microwave are wired together. You cannot replace just the microwave or just the oven. It would require replacing the model. The latest models are GE Profile™ Series 30" Built-In Combination Convection Microwave/Convection Wall Oven PT7800DHBB, GE® 27" Built-In Combination Microwave/Oven JK3800DHBB and GE® 30" Built-In Combination Microwave/Wall Oven JT3800DHBB. - Answer Thank you for your continued interest in GE microwaves. Trim kits attach to the actual microwave, so they are model specific. We do not have a current model that can be used with your existing trim kit. The PEB7227 and its trim kit should still work in your existing space though. LEDA@GE

- Answer For safety purposes, you will not be able to use the existing trim kit with a new microwave. The compatible trim kits for the PEB7227DLBB model are: JX7227DLBB (Black) and JX7230DLBB (Black).

- Answer Microwave it’s not as good as microwave it replaced. GE told me I could use the current trim kit that I had. So I only ordered the microwave. The old trim kit does not fit new microwaves the holes are off just enough to where it can’t be used. I did searches of four days trying to find a stainless steel trim kit even though GE told me there was only a black trim kit for the new microwave. In my search that’s all it was coming up for me also. Right before I put the order for the black trim kit in the cart I thought about reading the reviews on this site and there was a review there that someone was asking about the stainless steel trim kit. And someone answered back and said yes there is. The person gave the model number of the black trim kit and the stainless trim kit. So I was able to pull up the stainless and look at it. It did cost quite a bit more. But I bought it anyway. I believe the replacement microwave that GE has and the stainless trim kit are nowhere near the quality my old microwave and stainless trim kit was.

QuestionI purchased a ZEB7227DL3BB. Very dim lighting. Partly because the lightbulb is so weak and the interior color of the unit is a dark grey. Can one change the lightbulb, easily to a stronger wattage? Is ZEB1227SLSS also dark grey inside?
