QuestionMy GE profile countertop microwave model JE216OBF stopped working, What is the replacement model and will I need a new trim kit. Thank y ou.

- Answer Screw GE - they will always answer that the trim kit is model specific and you have to buy their new kit. Buy a new trim kit off of ebay for just a little over $100. It is ridiculous that the older trim kits do not fit the new ones. That is why our landfills are full.

- Answer Screw GE - they will always answer that the trim kit is model specific and you have to buy their new kit. Buy a new trim kit off of ebay for just a little over $100. It is ridiculous that the older trim kits do not fit the new ones. That is why our landfills are full.

- Answer The closest comparable replacement models we offer are the PEB7227ANDD and the PCWK22U1WDD. The design of these microwaves require a new built-in kit (JX7230SLSS) as well, as your existing kit is not compatible. - Vikki@GEAppliances

QuestionSince this is a "Built-in Microwave", does it come with a "trim kit" - that is, the surrounding frame? If not, do you sell one and what does it cost?

- Answer The trim kit is not included with the microwave. The compatible trim kit options for this unit are: JX7227DLWW (White); JX7230DLWW (White). These trim kits can be found on Bestbuy.com by searching the part number. -Don@GEAppliances

- Answer The most comparable replacement models we offer are the PEM31SFSS and the PCHK11S1WSS. If your existing microwave is built-in, you will also need the new built-in kit approved for use with the microwaves. We encourage you to check the size of the opening you have available to ensure proper installation. If your microwave is suspended from the underside of your cabinet, you will need the optional JXA019K kit. -Vikki@GEAppliances
