Q: QuestionHow far does this have to be from a wall that would extend beyond the refrigerator? I would like to put it in one spot with my kitchen reno, but I want to be able to open the left door and get shelves and drawers out.

Q: QuestionThe specifications say that the depth-with-handle and depth-without-handle are both 36.25". Since this refrigerator has handles, one of those dimensions is not correct.

• A:Answer Without handles the depth is 33-1/2”. Handles are installed on site. They had to take my front door of house off hinges to get inside.

• A:Answer IM-5D. It is worth it. Also, make installers watch YouTube video from GE. Instructions aren’t as clear on water line configuration on back of unit. Mine got screwed up multiple times. I found the solution and showed them what to do. They all skipped from step 3 to step 9. This is incorrect. Must do all steps if sticker is still covering extra water line hole. We went through 3 ice makers and 2 refrigerators until they got it right finally ( with my help).

Q: QuestionThe sliding tray in the bottom freezer has only 2 wheels on the front of the tray. The rear has none. The tray is very hard to bring forward and push back when it is full of food. Should the tray have 4 wheels, Two in the front and two in the back.

• A:Answer Hi Justaoldguy- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for considering our GE Profile Series Refrigerator! We apologize for the error. The refrigerator is Frost-Free (Frost Guard or Adaptive Defrost). You will not need to turn off the refrigerator for manual defrosting. The refrigerator will automatically defrost as needed. It accounts for door openings and usage to determine when it is necessary to defrost and how long the defrost cycle needs to run. If the refrigerator is not being frequently used (ex. family on vacation), it will not defrost as often. It also utilizes a "Pre-Chill" function to lower the freezer temperature prior to the defrost cycle. This lowering of freezer temperature allows the freezer to return to its set temperature point more quickly once the defrost cycle is complete. All this amounts to less thawing of foods and refreezing during the defrost cycle. The result is that it reduces freezer burn.
