  • QuestionWill any size pan fit on any burner? My skillets are large. Also, I notice you recommend cast iron. Won't that scratch the top?

    Asked by Stacey.

    • Answer For best results, use a pan that matches the element size. Pans should have a flat bottom and be at least 5 inches in diameter across the base. Cookware larger than the element ring may be used; however, heat will only be generated within the area covered by the burner element. For your induction range to create heat, the bottom of the pan must contain iron, which allows it to attract a magnet. Compatible cookware for induction cooktops should be made of carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, or enameled cast iron and steel. Cast iron is safe to use if the bottom of the pan is smooth and flat, and if you lift the pan instead of sliding it. To review additional information regarding pan usage, please see page 10 of the User Manual for this model by visiting the product page, clicking the "Features" tab, and navigating to the "Manuals & Guides" section.

  • QuestionWhat is difference with model induction cooktop and the energy star model ?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Induction cooking uses a high-frequency induction coil below the cooktop's smooth surface that heats the cookware by a magnetic field rather than using open flames like a gas cooktop or heated coils like an electric cooktop. Induction cooking is the only cooking method that directly generates heat in the cookware itself. Our Energy Star rated appliances help provide cost savings as well as energy savings without sacrificing features, performance, style or convenience. You can find more information by searching Energy Star on our GE Appliances website.
