A:AnswerHi Drifter - Thanks for considering GE Profile PDT715SYNFS! This model has Active Flood Protect. This feature consist of a sensor that recognizes and prevents potential overflow situations from occurring. This sensor is located under the filter inside the tub, replacing the mechanical float. This type of protection would be extremely beneficial on new construction sites if supply lines have not been properly flushed. Here's how it works: An internal water level sensor, located below the filter, signals the control if the water level is too high prior to flooding.
The control will de-energized the fill valve and activate the drain pump.
If debris is preventing the fill valve from shutting off properly, the activated drain pump will remove water faster than the fill valve can supply it.
Once the internal water level reaches an acceptable limit, the drain pump is de-energized. The cycle will be cancelled, a message displays in the control panel, and LED lights will blink with an alert tone. Also, models PDT785SYNFS and PDT775SYNFS have Leak Defense with Active Flood Protect. Leak Defense with Active Flood Protect is an enhancement feature building upon the Active Flood Protect. Here's how it works: A sturdy plastic polymer pan collects any moisture and holds up to 56 ounces of water. Approximately 1.5 ounces of collected water will trip the sensor in a properly leveled unit; however, a single drop of water in contact with the sensor will trigger action. The water valve is turned off and the pump is activated. A message is presented in the 3-digit display and the LEDs will flash, accompanied with an audible tone. If the unit is connected to WiFi, it will push an alert to the SmartHQ App. The pan is angled to allow for prompt attention. It is fastened in the back and not intended to come off during installation, making installation easier. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

A:AnswerHi Arn. Good question! Dishwashers with Floor Protect have a pan below the unit that catches small leaks up to 19 oz. Small leaks will usually evaporate once they hit the pan. With larger leaks, the pan tilts forward so the water is directed out the front of the unit where it can be seen and corrected.- Dishwashers with Floor Protect with Alert have a pan with a moisture sensor below the unit and will show LEAK DETECTED on the display if moisture is detected. The dishwasher will also cancel the cycle and pump out any remaining water when this occurs. If the dishwasher is also beeping, disconnect power to the dishwasher until the dishwasher can be repaired. But yes, the model in question does have a built in floor protect pan. We hope that this helps and that you're staying safe.
A:AnswerHi Kate. The Owner's Manual can be found on our website at the bottom of the unit's product page. For your other question, the clean and/or sanitized light will come on when the cycle has completed to let you know that the dishes inside are clean. Page 8 of your manual has more information on options that you can choose. We would recommend taking a look at that information for more help. We hope that this is helpful! Please stay safe and healthy.
A:AnswerHi Jan - PDT715SMNES does not have Rinse & Hold cycle. The Steam Pre-wash option begins loosening soils before the powerful wash cycles begin to help eliminate stuck-on soils. This option runs automatically with the selection of the DeepClean cycle, or it can be selected as an option to run before any other cycle. Steam is introduced into the dishwasher during the PREWASH part of the cycle when that option is selected. The tub fills with water, the pump will turn on to circulate the water through the spray arms for a period of time and then stops. The calrod heater at the bottom of the tub will then come on briefly. The wet glassware and dishware can now drip onto the hot calrod heater, and create steam inside the dishwasher.
