“Had my ice maker about a week. Question is when the water reservoir is needing water is the side water tank suppose to drain the water into the ice bin? It’s melting my ice & I would have thought that the side tank would fill the reservoir another way”

Yes, the side tank is supposed to flow into the machine so you don’t have to continue to add water to the reservoir. I would recommend dumping any unused ice for the day because it will help keep your machine cleaner longer. Using recycled water over and over means cleaning and descaling more often to keep your ice machine working properly. I hope this helps!

The melted water gets recycled and used for new ice. The unit is constantly making fresh ice to ensure you never run out by bringing water in from the tank. If you feel you have enough ice for the evening, press the Power button to turn the unit off. Turn it back on again, when you begin to run low.
