neither black nor white it is more like the inside of an oven

Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. Our over-the-range microwaves that are 1.9 and 2.1 cubic foot have a dark gray Easy Clean ("EZ clean”) porcelain enamel finish. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
