  • QuestionI have a wall on the right side of the unit with a 3 inch space between the side of the fridge and the wall. Seems that, with the handle, it will not open a full 90 degrees on the right. Will this severely impact the usefulness of the drawers, etc?

Additional clearance is needed: •to remove the drawers, •to open the door(s) if the adjacent wall or cabinets are deeper than the refrigerator case depth (depth w/o doors).   • Questionwhat are the rough in dimensions for water and electric ?

    • Answer Hi poolman- The refrigerator power cord is approximately 61" long. Facing the front of the unit, the power cord is on right 8" up and 2" over to left. The water valve on most GE refrigerators is near the bottom of the back of the refrigerator. To determine how much tubing you need: measure the distance from the water valve on the back of the refrigerator to the water supply pipe. Then add 8 feet. Be sure there is sufficient extra tubing (about 8 feet coiled into 3 turns of about 10” diameter) to allow the refrigerator to move out from the wall after installation. There is no maximum length. The line can be run as long as necessary to reach a main water line.   • Questioni need to replace my old GE profile refrigerator with the dimensions: W 35” H 66” (up to 6’) D 30” it cant be any deeper or wider do they still make a fridge that size?

  • QuestionHow wide is the refrig with the doors fully open? We have a counter top 12 inches from the fridge and don't want the door to hit the counter. How high off the floor does the handle start?

  • QuestionFrom the discussions below it sounds like both the "slate" color and the "black stainless" color are magnetized and will hold magnets. Is the same true for the actual stainless steel finish?

  • QuestionIs installation free?

    • Answer I was not charged for installation of GE Profile 23.1 CF French door refrigerator; but I need to qualify my response as I did not elect to hook up the icemaker nor the water filtration system. I've just seen too many times where people eventually have problems with the unit - it stops working or they start leaking. I'll just continue to use ice cube trays or just buy bagged ice if needed for a party. Not sure if they will charge it you elect them to install icemaker/water filtration system. If you're a DWP customer, you may be eligible for their rebate if you call them to recycle the old refrig. My only fee for the installers was to haul away the old refrigerator (my area is not serviced by DWP).
