Hi Tony - GE Profile Series Over-the-Range Oven with Advantium® Technology PSA9240SFSS operates on 240 volt, 30 Amps (NEMA #14-30R four-prong grounded outlet). Yes, it needs a 240 plug and it’s own breaker. We were replacing one that we had had for about eleven years. Hard to find now unless you get a built it. Love ours! It’s used daily;-). In my book the convenience is well worth the money.
