“My closet is 33-1/2" deep. Unit is 27-1/4" deep, so I have 6-1/4" for duct in back. Is this enough space to install flexible metal (foil type) transition duct to maneuver to out of dryer then to the side hole in closet?”

I had to purchase this unit for the same reason. I have about the same amount of space you do and it fits perfect. It also has punch out holes on both sides for the duct to run out.
