I have 3 dogs and a 1000 sf house. All hard wood floors. It has made a huge difference in our quality of air and I actually have a lot less dust. I use it in our living room about 12' x 24' space. I'm looking at buying a second unit for the hall outside the bedrooms. Noise is not to bad on medium. High it is quite loud and low is ver quiet. I'm not sur about the smell. Our home seems to smell ok but not having carpet could be difference. I do run it non stop on medium. We never shut it off.

Please try again later.Won't help with dog hair at all, but will have the place smelling a lot fresher especially if you're a person that likes to have the windows closed a lot of the time. But this unit is fairly loud if you have it at max power. Which I find it only effective really at max power. Hope this helps!
