“Can I use it outside if it is under the roof of our outdoor deck, completely protected from sun & rain? Our Wi-Fi will still reach it, even though the router and modem are inside the house.”

I wouldn’t suggest that. They do make a outdoor version that I believe is in same price or really close to the same price.

Purchase an outdoor camera. I am sure the outdoor cameras have parts that can handle dew, dampness, etc. even if it is under a roof or on an enclosed patio. The elements are still there.
