I have not had this issue with my nest thermostat but when I had my old ac system w/o the nest thermostat the temp inside my house will cool down to 80 and it will continue to run even if the temp was set to 70. My house is really small so it should not take that long to cool down. I had it checked and it was due to low freon. If your system stops running at 80 even if the temp was set to a lower temp, it could be a sensor issue. It could be that the room where your nest is located already reached the set temp. Aside from that the only probable reason I can think of is a defective nest unit as long as it was confirmed to be compatible with your system and the wires are connected to the right places. If I have have the same issue, I would consult a nest pro or an ac technician.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
