A:AnswerThe Nest Thermostat E does have a safety temperature which is set to 40 degrees by default. This means the Nest E would always kick the heat on if the temperature drops below 40 degrees. This can be turned down to as low as 35 degrees, or you could completely turn the safety temperature off. Full details here: https://nest.com/support/article/How-do-Safety-Temperatures-work
The operating temperature of the Nest Thermostat E is 32° to 104°F and is rated for indoor use only.
A:AnswerThe easiest way is to go online and use the assistant. (It’s in the instructions) It will allow you to input your wires and tell you exactly where to place them as well as whether or not the thermostat is compatible with your system. If it is. It will tell which wires you can omit (if any) it makes things pretty fool proof. Hope this helps
