- Answer Can be used for both, but mainly used as a doorbell for outdoor use. It is weather resistant, but if it’s too cold it does affect the battery version by dying quicker.

- Answer Yes but be leery that the system is a nightmare if it crashes. I've been working on trying to get mine back up for days. No phone support. I have Two doorbells and one in house.

- Answer Hey there, ElleLuck! Thanks for your inquiry! A highly visible security doorbell can help deter potential intruders. You can install your doorbell in a place where it can easily be seen and make sure its status light is on to help discourage intruders. To get the camera view you want, you have to adjust the doorbell’s position by hand. Use the Home app to check the camera’s view so you can adjust the position from the mounting plate or wedge if you need to. To use the wedge for a better camera view, make sure to install the wedge then position the baseplate plate over the wedge with the G positioned upright and use the wedge screws to secure it in place. Then attach the doorbell to the baseplate, align the circle at the bottom of the doorbell to the hole at the bottom of the baseplate, and push the doorbell in then down until you feel it click into place. QuestionHaving trouble understanding how many apps I need to have for a Google Nest battery doorbell which stores video for up to 30 days. Otherwise, we only have basic needs as a doorbell and video of any activity. Also, do these apps work with a VPN in place?

- Answer I have several Google devices. Nest protect smoke and carbon monoxide detectors which use the Nest app. Google hub max which has a camera that uses Nest app. All my other devices use Google Home App. Once both are installed you can access the Nest app from within the Google Home App. It all works very well together.

The newer versions of Nest cameras and doorbells, including the Nest Doorbell (battery), has a local storage fallback that allows it to record videos for up to one hour without Wi-Fi. - Answer You have to setup Zones. If the person is outside of the zones it will not alert you. You can do this in settings.

- Answer You should be able to use any USB-C charging cable. When I need to charge mine I don't always use the one that came with the doorbell, sometimes I use the one that came with my phone because they are the same type of cable.

QuestionIt says that you get 3 hours of recording history with the device. Is that total or can you delete the history once you max out and get the 3 hours over again constantly?

- Answer If your home has a wired doorbell transformer, you can connect this to it and it will trickle charge the battery. Otherwise it will operate entirely on battery power.

- Answer They do sell a plug-in wall adapter on Amazon. I myself have the solar panel adapter. It works great with it. But the battery by itself will last me three weeks on a charge.

- Answer You have to go to your Google home app then click on the mini to add in settings then make sure that it is set on the doorbell to in the settings. After that it should work.
