QuestionIf the Pixel 3a phone is purchased UNLOCKED, how does BestBuy know if I've activated? (I need to activate to get the $100 BestBuy gift card.) I want to use as company phone, but my company IT needs to receive phone before can switch/activate.

- Answer I received the $100 e-gift certificate after I picked up the phone. I did not have to activate the phone to get it, just pick up the phone. I ordered unlocked online and the e-gift certificate came to my email within 30 minutes after picking it up.

QuestionWill this phone work with T-Mobile, AT&T, etc... GSM network carriers? I was told by an associate in the store that the new Google phones only work with CDMA networks. Thanks!

- Answer I visited the local Best Buy as well as T-Mobile today to check the model # on their Pixel 3A display phone (Settings/AboutPhone/...). It is Model G020G at both. I called Google Pixel tech support earlier and was astonished that they were quite clueless about there being 4 models in their own specs (under Network) or which specific model was on US retail shelves! GA00655 appears to be the Manufacturer's # rather than the Model # according to another online site (B&H).

- Answer No, the phone will not be locked to sprint. The point of having an unlocked phone is to switch over to any carrier you wish at any given time.

QuestionNo Micro SD slot on Google Pixle???

- Answer Unfortunately no MicroSD slot on the 3a (nor the 3 or the 4). Unbelievably very few smartphones now have them. I agonized over this. I finally decided to get a 3XL with 128 GB memory to have as much on board memory as possible. The Pixels do support OTG so you can plug in a microSD card reader. I got a 512 GB SDHC card for $64. But that's a hassle and in the long run stresses the type C port. The other partial solutions that works are cloud drives when you have an internet connection, or a RavPower filehub that provides local wireless storage and also is a battery power bank (which is also needed as while the 3a has more power than the 4's it is still abysmal)l. when you have an internet connection I think you get 2 years of Google picture storage. And there are streaming services for music and video. The black Friday $399 price for a 3a was a good deal.

- Answer If you buy an unlocked Pixel, it will work in India. Keep in mind that this has only 1 physical SIM card slot + 1 E-SIM card slot. You can use it with Airtel in India. no worries.

CDMA & 3G/4G bands; 0, 1, 2, 4, 5, 13 & frequencies; 700, 850, 1700, 1900, 2100.
