• the Camera connection kit works, either plug it in directly or use a microSD to usb converter and stick it into the lightning port. apple opened up the camera conneciton kit to work with the iphone recently also, so i use the CCK with my iphone 6 plus to download videos and photos directly.

• Yes you would need an SD card reader accessory for your iPad.
