A:Answer I have a GoPro 4 Silv, and have used the option to take a picture while shooting video. For some reason the pictures just do not turn out as well as if you just used picture mode. Possibly the motion effects it. As for a program to pull a frame out of the video, iMovie can, but that frame is no wheres as good as a still. Each frame is set to make motion clear. Also note that if you shoot in 1080, that leaves you a picture in 1080, a rather low resolution picture - poor quality as a snapshot.
