This case just snaps on the back of the Nano - you would still need something for the front if you want to cover it. However, I do find that this gives adequate protection for my Nano. If you want full front and back coverage, there are cases that do both, and a number of silicone "sleeves" that the Nano slides into.

As for an armband, all our cases and armbands are made to hold the iPod only, with no additional cases or skins. This case would need to be removed before attaching the iPod to an armband.
