We cut the cabinet above the fridge opening down so it started at 72". As long as the opening is not as deep as the fridge, I think 71¾" would be okay. If the hinges fall within the opening, that might be a problem.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello, I have the same fridge, from the floor to the very top is about 71.25" (likely due to uneven floor and the use if risers below the fridge). So if have 3/4" of opening, that should be enough.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You should be fine. The front of the fridge has the hinge covers on top for the doors which are about half an inch so the rest of the fridge is about 70 1/2 inches in height.
