The ice maker actually has a Drain Pump Mode wherein unnecessary water will be forced to drain out by the pump on the back of the unit.

This product does have a drainage pump. Defrosting for this model is not needed. Minimal defrosting may be applicable if your unit is in heavy usage or it is stored in high humidity. The machine is making ice cubes.

To answer that, Studio and Library Series are the same except for their door handle. Studio Series has a stainless Designer handle while Library offers the round handle.
