QuestionWhy is no protection plan offered for this model? Every other U6, U7 and U8 model has that option. This model offered a $99.99 5-year plan yesterday, now that has been removed . Why, specifically, does Best Buy not offer protection plans for the 55U7N?

QuestionWill this TV (or any current Hisense TV) work with a universal remote? I want to get one with number buttons to directly enter channel numbers instead of pressing up-up-up-up-up-up.

- Answer I can answer my own question now. I got the Insignia universal remote NS-RMT3D21 and it works pretty well with this 55U7N TV. Code 3519 seems to work best. It allows direct input of channel numbers on the keypad.

QuestionI recently purchased this TV along with the Hisense AX5125H soundbar and I'm trying to listen from both the TV and the soundbar which I was told I could. Can someone please advise me on how to do this? Thank you

- Answer You can listen to one or the other. Not both simultaneously like some other televisions let you do. That is my only complaint about this television. There is no work around or fix to this issue that I could find.

Questionare other users able to use the PVR function to record OTA nextgen shows on a USB drive? I like the tv but this function has now disappeared & I'm being told by Hisense that it doesn't support PVR yet it says so in the manual & in other posts here--help!!

- Answer The TV has the capability but it is disabled on US versions. It might be enabled with a software update in the future, perhaps this year. This according to top level customer support (or so I was told).

QuestionCan streaming apps not listed (such as Criterion Channel, PBS Passport, Spotify, etc) be added other than by attaching a streaming stick, such as Roku?

- Answer Generally Yes. BUT some streaming services do not work with ALL operating systems. This one is Google, check with the one(s) you want to import and see if they will work with Google. I ran into the same problem with one of my apps, the app isn't set up to work with Google, it's Amazon only. I added a Fire stick and all is working fine. I hope this helps.

- Answer The US version does not have the PVR function enabled. None of the US version Hisense TVs do. This information comes from the highest level of Hisense customer support (or so I was told). This might change in the future.

- Answer Yes it has Ethernet Input and Even though it’s not necessary, I always recommend connecting smart TVs Directly to the Modem Via Ethernet instead of through Wi-Fi.
