“Can the upper drain hose be attached and left to drain into a bucket when operating in AC mode and not just Dehumidify mode? I'm assuming when it reaches the top it will still drain either way.”

Hello ! Our portable air conditioners work on self evaporation and they do not need to be drained unless operating in very humid conditions. Continuous drain should not be used in cooling mode, but only when using the unit strictly as a dehumidifier.
