QuestionDoes it work for forced hot water heating? Will it work when not connected to WiFi and can you program it from itself or do you have to program from a phone

- Answer It should work with your application. It works with many different setups. The wiring was a little difficult but not too bad. It works with or without being connected to the internet. You can program it via its own touch screen, or your smartphone/tablet. You can only program it from your phone if it’s connected to the internet. Don’t buy this model if you are not going to connect it to the internet, there are cheaper models that will do the same thing.

QuestionBased on the configuration of my HVAC system at home I will need 2 Thermostats (2 Zones - One HVAC unit) will the T5+ have the capability to communicate between the two thermostats (2 zones) to manage the temperature?

- Answer Based on the info I read in the installation Manuel and some YouTube videos it should work just fine.

QuestionHow is this unit different from the Nest other than the price? My primary concern is that it work and I an adjust it from my iPhone while away.

- Answer This thermostat will work great for you and is a great value. The Nest if fine too, but I think it's overpriced. The T5+ has all the top features--geofencing, time scheduling, voice control with Siri, Alexa, Google, etc., temperature alerts, intelligent comfort and smart response learning, and the Honeywell Home app is great. It was breeze to set up, and it looks GREAT on the wall. The T5+ does not have remote temperature sensors and motion detection—but to me, those features don’t make sense or add value for most people (like you).

- Answer It's really quite simple. Connects same as a normal non smart thermostat does with the exception of you need the common wire from the transformer to power the thermostat. A regular thermostat only needed 4 wires. If the 5th wire is not in the wall, the T5 + has an adapter that wires in at the furnace to compensate for it. I had 5 wires in the wall for mine. If you are not sure of what you are doing with it, I would recommend having an HVAC man connect it rather than burn up an expensive thermostat. The only problem I can see is if you have a heat pump or a multi stage system. Then I would definitely put the responsibility of connecting it on a pro. Otherwise a homeowner can make it work. Important: Take a picture of your thermostat wiring before you start. I have not yet installed mine as I am rehabbing and waiting until wall is painted.

- Answer The white wire may need to be put in W1 or W2. If the fan keeps running when the a/c or heat is off, that line is always energized. The W2 line gets energized when the a/c comes on. So try W1 or W2.

QuestionWe only have 2 wires inside the wall where the old thermostat is. Can i install this thermostat? I see there is some kind of adapter, does this resolve that issue and how does it work? It sounds like it needs to be installed on the actual furnace?

- Answer Hi there! The Resideo Honeywell Home T5+ Thermostat needs a C wire to power on. The adapter that comes with the thermostat is intended for people that do not have a dedicated C wire and have a additional wires connected to their thermostat controlling the fan. The adapter won't work in your situation if you only have two wires. You will need to check to see if you have extra wires at your thermostat that aren't being used, run additional wires from your thermostat to your system, or look into adding a secondary transformer. - Answer It is compatible with Alexa, but I could only get one if my two synced correctly. For some reason the one in our lower level no longer is recognized after it initially worked. The Alexa set up was easy to do.

QuestionWill this t-stat control thermostatically linked [classic Honeywell mercury dial] HS TARM wood-fired boiler with a 16kW Argo back up that both feed into slab hydronic heating system? Want to control time of day & run time, temp set not as critical.

- Answer I would think so as it is capable of controlling two stage heating. For positive approval I would contact Honeywell with the model of the current Honeywell TStat and get their approval.

- Answer This thermostat does not support multi-zone or remote sensors. You'll have to upgrade to the Honeywell T6 for that.

- Answer From my understanding and from watching the video they provided, you will need that 4th wire and plus if you have a older model home. Look at the Picture that is attach.

QuestionDoes anyone know where the device crc is located? I found the Mac ID on the back of the unit, but I have no idea where the CRC number is or what it represents! I emailed Honeywell on this and have no response from them. Registration requirement!
