• No it does not heat and dry. It does do a good job of sucking up the water and soap. The rug was dry after about a half a day.

• Hi bellin! The way the heated dry works is that all the hot air normally expelled from the machine is redirected onto the carpet to assist in the drying process. -Michael, Hoover Customer Care
