• Yes, I'm struggling to understand the loud noise from the fan! My former DELL was quite loud too!

• No. I just bought it a couple of weeks ago, and even though I am on it for several hours at a time, the fan only runs for a minute or so before shutting off. I'd check with HP tech support if I were you.
