Customers often highlight the laptop's speed, touch screen capabilities, and reasonable price. They appreciate its light weight and good battery life, as well as its fast performance and ample storage. On the downside, some users have concerns about the fan noise, battery life, limited number of USB ports, the absence of a fingerprint reader despite being advertised to have one, and the short warranty period.

I've never had a laptop this light before, almost feather like for a disabled veteran with chronic pain. The process is really fast, not time is maybe 2 seconds (if not updating). I saw complaints about the fan being noisy. I have an extra laptop cushion with built in fan. This computer does not have a fan any louder than any other laptop. You would not get tossed from a library for using it. I've owned it for 7 days. Windows 10 H is no worries either. Reccomend highly

I bought this for personal use and also bought one for my son. The Sales Representative was very helpful and professional. However, the product has weird marks on the upper right side of the screen that look like clouds formation. Weird looking marks :) I googled it and some post online have the same issue for Office 365 , I got MS2016. Is this some kind a screen background? But overall, my experience buying this and my son laptop was good.

I bought this computer for my husband that only uses for "work" stuff. Excel, browsing in the internet and occasionally view some 3D models, this pc was more enough for him!
He likes the touch screen function and the SDD makes everything runs fast. Also, it's pretty lightweight.
This pc is amazing for a "work" or "study" laptop. I would not recommend this pc for gaming, or heavy use (it could run some games, but you don't have a lot of stored (limited by the 256gb SSD and no dedicated graphics cards)
My only "complain" is the fan sometimes is a little loud, but that is just every laptop I owned.

I was and remain happy with this machine, but there's a BIG negative that no associate in the entire store knew about. HP's Wi-Fi adapter is apparently an older model that can't handle Wi-Fi speeds greater than 50gb. My Wi-Fi provider has 100mb service so the adapter couldn't even see it. 100mb speeds have been around for years and my old $300, 3-years-old Lenovo could use it but not this new $650, HP. The Geek Squad found the problem and when I complained to the store they comped me a USB-based Wi-Fi adapter that handles the higher speed very nicely. But now I have only one usable USB port which is where my mouse lives. When I mentioned that to the manager he comped me a USB expander(?) that has four ports.
Now when I run a Wi-Fi speed test it runs at about 118mb download and 12mb upload. Along with the SSD drive this is a quick little maching.
My recommendation: if you're thinking about getting this HP model, make sure you get the Wi-Fi and USB expander adapters.

My husband switched from a desktop to a laptop for work. We had some knowledge but the staff was excellent in helping us pick out just the right laptop. This computer is lightweight but not small. It has a touch screen. It is fast. It was easy to set up. It meets all of our needs. It was also very affordable.

The fan is a bit loud, but I love this computer. I've had it going on three years now, and it has not given me any issues at all. It is still very fast while also being light weight. I will certainly continue to purchase HP products in the future.

I needed a new laptop after my old one finally bit the dust after 5+ years. Purchased on a whim to take advantage of Black Friday online deals.
Was a little hesitant because of the reviews complaining about fan noise, but figured the high-star rating with a high number of reviews, plus the overall good specs for a good price would be worth it.
The fan was a bit noticeable--but not what I'd consider "noisy"-- when I first turned it on. But even after just two days I honestly don't hear or notice it when it kicks on.
It's super quick, good screen size but lightweight, keeps a charge long but charges up quickly, and has plenty of memory for my basic documents and photo storing. I'm thrilled to have gotten such a great laptop at a great price, and am glad I didn't let the negative reviews sway me.

This is a laptop that checks all the boxes for me. It has a full size keyboard, touchscreen, very fast (especially with an SSD) and has plenty of storage. If you are looking for a great performer for less than $500 you won't go wrong with this guy!

Great HP laptop, won’t break the bank. Just make sure you get at least 12mb memory and SSD! Memory and solid state drive amounts will increase the price but are worth the money to get the right combo. This computer is super fast, reliable and perfect for office needs as well streaming online media. If you have to make a sacrifice, sacrifice SSD size but not RAM. You can always use other external device’s for storage. Make sure you know the difference between solid state and hard drive. SSD has no moving parts! + & - either way you go.

I was in the market for a new laptop and after researching for months various brands and models after seeing this one on BB I decided it was the right fit for my needs. 12 gigs of ram, Intel core i5 no brainier and it was on sale.
So jumped at the opportunity and ordered the laptop.
Pros
1. Boots up quick and shuts down fast.
2. Opens up programs fast. Good at multitasking.
3. The specs 12 gigs of ram Intel core I5 SSD hard drive the specs at this price point are hard to beat.
4. the laptop has a nice sleek look and finish.
Cons
1. because I use a wired mouse and can't use the track pad I had to purchase a special adapter to connect my wired mouse because on the left it only has usb type c port. Minor inconvenience.
2. The Fan can be noisy at times and runs for a lengthy period of time.
3. it comes with lots of bloatware but that's to be expected with most laptops.
Overall I recommend it for the specs and price point hard to beat for the price.

The touchscreen feature on this machine is a lot of fun to use. No more mice! Quick boot up time, lightweight, easy to take almost anywhere. There's no dvd or bluray drive, but files can be easily loaded with a thumb drive. The fan is a little noisy at times, but not annoyingly so. Display is great...big enough for casual viewing and a strong color saturation. Battery life is adequate for my needs. Good with the home wifi, too. I just wish it had a little more storage space.

... I have to confess that I don't love the visuals. The white is oversaturated, no matter how you set the settings, and it's a strain on my eyes. I'm neither old nor have bad sight LOL and I've done some research and it looks like this is a common complaint. I don't understand why, but it's like all the white sections of the screen are over-processed. It actually hurts my eyes to look at it for too long. Which isn't terribly useful in a laptop... I have a feeling I will get used to it, because as I said I dont have vision issues generally, but it's annoying.
That aside, the setup was incredibly easy. I don't use Cortana on a regular basis, but it certainly made setup a breeze compared to years past. I had to break out of the safe mode because I use Chrome as my default browser, and had to fuss around with some things before that worked seamlessly - it still seems like pages take a lot longer to load than they should, and again from things I've Googled, I suspect this is Microsoft attempting to keep me from using a browser other than theirs LOL. Whatever. To me, Chrome is worth waiting on compared to Microsoft Edge...
Aside from that Mrs. Lincoln, the play is fine. :-). The computer does what I need it to with no more irritation then any other device - which I'm starting to think is the best we get with new technology year after year lol. I don't understand why they keep fixing things that aren't broken, like the visuals and the loading, but guess I can see that the company that makes the device wants to promote their products and their versions above all others. I don't have to like it, but I can understand it.
The computer is very lightweight and charges quickly and holds that charge. Ultimately, those are big wins on a laptop for me. The rest of it I can deal with.

It was time to upgrade my laptop bought in 2012. After much price comparison, this laptop was an overall good buy for me. I mainly use this for picture organization and web browsing. It does everything I need lightning fast compared to my old laptop. I would like to use it for some light video editing but windows 10 does not have movie maker anymore. I have been using it almost 1 month and it has worked flawlessly and the battery life is good.

I went from a 17" down and thought the phusical size would bother me but it has not! It is so light to carry and is faster and has the same capacity as my larger one.
Also, Office is included on this computer (even though the Best Buy guys tried to get me to buy it - I don't think they knew it was either)!!!
