Q: QuestionMy only reason for needing a laptop is to list my bills instead of writing them on paper. I have a list of who I pay bills to, when they are due and the dates each bill is due. So, what program would I need to use and how much memory do I need?

• A:Answer Thank you for the question. You can make your list using Excel. Excel is available with Microsoft 365, and included as a free trial for 30 days. After the trial, you can subscribe for continued use, use Microsoft Online, or any number of free Open Source spreadsheet programs widely available. You don't need a lot of memory for such light tasks, 4GB would be sufficient. However, if you ever intend on streaming, video calling, accessing music and photos, and other memory-dependent programs, you'd want 8GB of memory (RAM) at the least.

Q: QuestionHas anyone been able to hook up 2 monitors to this laptop? I just found out that the 1 USB Type-C 5Gbps signaling rate (supports data transfer only and does not support charging or external monitors). Hope this helps others as I found out the hard way.

• A:Answer Thank you for your question! This laptop is not designed with multiple-monitor setups in mind. only using the built-in display and another that is connected through the HDMI port. If you need dual-monitor capability, the HP Pavilion, Envy, and Spectre series laptops and convertibles offer USB-C ports that have DisplayPort pass-through along with power delivery and you will be able to power two monitors through those using either the USB-C input on a monitor or a USB-C dock. Envy and Spectre both support Thunderbolt, which will allow to connect even more peripherals via a dock.

• A:Answer Just to clarify HP's response: the PC will come with a trial version of Office 365, that will work for 30 days. If you want to keep it, you will have to subscribe or buy the one-off version. Both of these involve receiving a product key from the seller (Best Buy, Microsoft, or a third party) and entering it in the correct field when prompted. If you don't want to pay Microsoft, you can download one of a number of free, non-Microsoft Office suites, such as Kingsoft. You will have the same usability (in some cases, better, as other suites often display greater integration) but keep in mind that there might be a learning curve.
