- Answer NOTE: It ships with a SSD not a hard drive. That said, Yes you can, but not as it comes out of the box. It ships with Windows 11 Home "in S Mode". You first have to remove S mode. There are several youtube videos on how remove S Mode. Then if you're familiar with the process of installing ubuntu you can proceed. If you need assistance there are multiple videos on Youtube, just search for - install ubuntu on windows 11

- Answer This laptop can run both of those games well, but it might lag or crash but it happens rarely. I think it’s a problem with windows 11 ,but there might be an update in the future to fix this because windows 11 is pretty new. If you don’t want windows 11 there’s an option to revert to windows 10 and I believe that will work better, but it is older. This laptop is good overall just you might experience those problems. - Answer It's actually both. The panel itself is an LCD, but a liquid crystal display needs to be backlit so you can see the image, and that backlight is done by one or more LEDs.

- Answer The short answer is "It depends". The longer and more helpful answer is that if you're looking to just copy data (like images or video), no you don't. If you're trying to install a program from a thumb drive, S Mode won't allow you to do that without a program from the Windows Store.

- Answer Hello, Lilly. Thanks for your question. This HP laptop comes with Windows 11 in S Mode.That means you can only download apps from the Microsoft Store and use the Microsoft Edge browser. QuestionHello I’m trying to download office 365 to the computer. I have it through my college but when it says it’s downloaded I click it still is asking me to purchase the Office 365. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there no way to go around it?

- Answer I think I understand what's happening. Because this computer is running Windows in "S Mode" it can only download and run apps that are in the Windows Store, and that's why it's asking you to purchase the software. However, it's quite easy to take the computer out of S Mode, which should allow you to download and install the software from the link that the college gave you. To switch the computer to Windows 11 Home, just follow the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/switching-out-of-s-mode-in-windows-4f56d9be-99ec-6983-119f-031bfb28a307#WindowsVersion=Windows_11

- Answer You can upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 for free. Then if you want to upgrade to Pro, you will need to look at the OS requirements from the Microsoft site. If it does, there is an upgrade fee. The price of the fee as subject to change. Geek Squad can do the upgrade for you after purchase, you will still be required to pay the upgrade fee.

- Answer Yes, you can. although you'll need to remove the 8 gigabyte module and install a 16 gigabyte one in it's place. The computer uses DDR4 3200MHz Non-ECC SODIMM RAM, so that's what you'd need.

- Answer Forget Microsoft Office. I can't afford it, either. Use a free knock-off. I have CutePDF Writer, FoxIt PDF Reader, and Open Office. There are countless others... do a search for Microsoft Office Knock-Offs, or MS Word Knock-offs.
