• You would need a power supply and a converter cable. This would require some knowledge of computer components. Short answer for the layman is no.

• Most Desktops will have a plug-in built into their ribbons. There will be 2 plugs for this installation. One will be the power (the package comes with the extend cord) and the other will be to plug into the system. Took about 5 mins to install and get it up and running. Runs Great on my Home built Desktop.

• This HP CD/DVD drive is an internal drive for a desktop, this is too big to install into a notebook.
