- Answer In the description under overview on the Best Buy website it mentions it shreds papers into tiny 4.3mm x 12mm unreadable micro-cut pieces and shreds credit cards, CDs, and staples too.

QuestionDoes this model have thermal protection? What is the duty cycle, i.e., how long can it run continuously before it needs to rest—-how long is the rest period before one can resume shredding?

- Answer Hi John, thank you for the question. The HP AF809 Shredder has thermal controls and will shut down when the maximum temperature is reached. The duty cycle is 10 minutes of shredding, and 40 minutes of rest.

- Answer I can't think of a reason paper bags wouldn't work. There isn't a particular one to recommend, as long as it properly fits the bin.
