If your printer supports the 920 and the 920xl ink cartridges, you can use the together. For example, you could use a 920 tricolor and a 920xl black at the same time without any problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is safe to use both at the same time that's what's so great about this product you can have the black 920XL and the mutli colors 920 cartridges and still print beautifully.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The slots in your printer dictate what size cartridges you can use at the same time. For most HP Desk and Inkjet, only the BLACK cartridge slot will accommodate either the regular (skinny) or the XL (wider) cartridge. The other slots will accommodate only the skinny ones. And, yes you can use an LX black cartridge with the other colors being skinny.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would have been fine to use the standard 920 for a cartridge with a 920XL in another cartridge slot. The 920XL is just the high yield option for the 920 cartridges. If you had certain colors you tended to use up more quickly, you could have used the 920XL in place of those while sticking with the standard 920 for the others. Thank you for your question.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. The black cartridge will simply outlast the other three colors so you'll just have to replace them sooner.
