QuestionDoes this have Quad-Core processors?I can't really tell, I searched Quad Core processor laptops and this was the first one that showed up.

- Answer No it does not. This is a physical dual core processor which uses hyperthreading to give it 4 logical cores(4-way processing). The mobile processors from Intel that have 4 physical cores will have the letter 'q' in the name such as the i7-4710hq. Depending on the tasks you are using this for the dual core processors are usually enough and tend to get better battery life than the quad cores do. Hopefully this helps.

- Answer from my understanding yes 16gb is the max, maybe a bios update or something will allow more to be seen. As for SSD I am running it with one now. Pain to open system but well worth it.

- Answer A second HD will mount just above where the CD/DVD drive is (found this pic as a reference http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachments/envy17n-jpg.125945/ ). The HDD Hardware kit P/N 813796-001 $22 and the connector cable P/N 813795-001 $24 from HP. You can verify the part numbers with an online rep, and they will typically give you a 15% discount if you let the rep take your order.

- Answer Check to see how your comp "performance" is. I think its with the task manager. I noticed mine was lagging upon start up and the fan would immediately kick in to the point it was really loud. Not something I expected after a month or so after purchase. It turns out a couple of programs I installed were setup to start running immediately upon starting up. ITunes was the worst. This can have a high impact on performance. Once I disabled all the programs from automatically starting especially iTunes, I haven't had any issues.

- Answer Look at the symbols on the covers on the bottom of the laptop. 17" laptops usually have 2 hard drive bays. The symbol for hard drive is usually stacked disks. Search for the HP maintenance manual online. It will show you how to install a second hard drive.

- Answer Yes, as long as you add an M.2 SSD. There is an open M.2 2280 slot right next to the existing SATA drive. If you need to add a second SATA drive, there's a connector on the opposite end of the laptop that I think HP provides a mount kit + special cable for but I can't see where to buy those parts at. I don't think there are any major drawbacks, but airflow isn't great in that location and I noticed my M.2 SSD would get up to 53C when under heavy load.

- Answer Good question. The RAM on this model is actually not use accessible so you won't be able to upgrade the RAM. I hope this helps.
