The memory and RAM specs are more than enough for running either program. I personally use Ableton, but on a MAC. This is a really awesome computer for the price. The Processor is extremely fast and sufficient to be a legit gaming computer. I would think it would be beefy enough to handle anything you throw at this computer. I'd go for it. If it doesn't you can always return it. Best Buy has a great return service. Hope this helps.
